Mortgage Trust Vision

Purpose

We exist to improve the financial lives of our clients, business partners, and teammates — empowering them to pursue their goals and dreams. As we succeed, we create opportunities for underserved kids in our community.

Relationship-focused

We have meaningful, unique conversations with our clients and business partners to build a clear understanding of their financial needs and help them achieve their goals.

Growth-oriented

We employ people who think big, dream boldly, create fearlessly, and bring a positive attitude to our team. We support them when needed while giving them the autonomy to work in ways that bring out the best in themselves and the people around them.

Collaborative culture

We operate as one team, offering support that goes far beyond tools and technology. We work hard, support each other, and celebrate each other's successes.

Excellence, always

We consistently evaluate, refine, and improve how we work to deliver outstanding results.

Generosity

We share our time, resources, and energy to improve the lives of our clients, business partners, teammates, and the community we serve.

Our team treats all clients and partners as relationships, not transactions.

Working with us, clients take meaningful steps toward improving their financial future. Our ability to broker allows us to offer mortgage pricing that is better than most competitors, which means we can quickly move past rate comparisons and into thoughtful conversations about wealth building. By combining competitive rates with genuine relationships and exceptional service, our clients consistently refer their friends, family, and coworkers to us for their mortgage needs.

At Mortgage Trust, our Loan Officers focus on their highest and best use: cultivating client and partner relationships.

To make that possible, they spend very little time on administrative or processing duties. Obtaining documentation, chasing down conditions, and managing primary communications with all parties involved in a transaction are handled by assistants and processors. We believe so strongly in this model that we're willing to pay for it:

After one quarter of 15+ closed loans:

We contribute $37,500 per year toward an assistant

After two consecutive quarters of 20+ closed loans:

We increase that contribution to $75,000 per year

After two consecutive quarters with 30+ closed loans:

We provide a dedicated processor as well

We are committed to adding real value to our teammates, clients, and business partners. We host events throughout the year to support this:

  • Trust/Forward TED-style events host 3–4 speakers who deliver quick-hit talks at local venues for loan officers and their business partners.
  • Wealth-building events cover topics like estate planning, tax strategies, and using home equity to benefit our teammates, their business partners, and their clients.

Community impact is core to our purpose. To advance that commitment, we hold additional events:

  • Thanks & Giving is our annual event to gather toys for Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
  • Poker tournaments benefit a chosen local charity or organization that helps underserved kids in our community.

We will employ 15 loan officers and 15 support staff, with loan processors and loan officer assistants supporting no more than two loan officers each.

We'll move from covering 50% of employee benefits to 100%, and we'll match 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to 3% for every employee.

To strengthen relationships and keep our culture strong, we'll host recurring team-building events like karaoke, escape rooms, cooking classes, rooftop gatherings, and whitewater rafting. We'll also sponsor company athletic teams such as softball, Hood to Coast, bowling, and futsal.

What Success Looks Like

We set ambitious goals for ourselves because we believe great outcomes come from high standards and shared success.

  • Mortgage Trust helps 970 families finance their homes each year.
  • Every loan officer closes at least 48 loans annually and earns a minimum of $280,000 per year.
  • Every member of our support staff earns at least $100,000 per year while working no more than four days per week.
  • Mortgage Trust rises to the #1 medium-sized business on Oregon Business Magazine's "100 Best Places to Work" list.
  • Mortgage Trust has a material and lasting impact on our community beyond mortgages.
